The fight towards marijuana decriminalization seized American politics and civilization in whole long ago. Unfortunately, because of misleading ideas from the American politicians and the majority of common people, the amount of money in the political budget has never been sufficient for opposing the drug law enforcement.
Decriminalization is the final action on a long way to permit the use of marijuana for recreational purposes without any harm to the society, as we all consider it to be. If putting aside the misleading ideas, we can easily conclude that the only bodies which take advantage of marijuana non-legacy are government and the black market, and a common American has to suffer negative consequences.
The government and drug-opposing lawmakers has gained great success in inducing fear among people with regard of marijuana and other drugs side effects which allegedly lead to suffering, from their first racist steps against immigrants to intentional concealment of marijuana medicinal researches and uses.
In fact, this lie of the land is not beneficial for citizens from any side. The government is afraid of people's discontent in view of soft attitude towards the criminal affairs and is doing nothing.
Lots of states have already legalized marijuana possession for medicinal purposes, but others still await the green-light for practical use of marijuana. Last week Barney Frank, a representative from Massachusetts, reported that a proposition would be promoted in Congress for legalization of small marijuana quantities. Imprisonment would be replaced by fining those who are seized for drug possession, and the fine would not be more expensive than a transport ticket.
However, the primary question is still in finances, the lack of which decreases the chances of introducing any proposal to Congress. Still, if it is finally introduced, it has little odds for success. |
