The City of Clay has made some calculations concerning expenditures to drug testing at Clay-Chalkville High School during some years. The city faced current deficit for a year, the council underwrote $7,500 on drug testing as for the rest of the current semester.
Councilman Chuck McGuffie proved that the decision was taken at the time they assured themselves of checks in January.
During organized at the February 16 council meeting, Councilman Kevin Small interested what else institutions will indicate their willingness to control the actual pass of appropriated funds
Councilman McGuffie said the city may be able to get statistical information.
McGuffie announced that in case of a beneficial effect student tests out, they deem it duty to notify the parent for a retest. Under positive effect of repeat inspection, then the corrective measures to be taken are plainly laid out.
Small didn't fail without specifications to make mention of the fact that the process is already under way. He said he ran on "accountability". He also entrusted with a secret that had heard dissatisfactions concerning lack of trust in the local school's functionaries of fairness.
McGuffie mentioned that the sampling method was rather extraordinary, the student is assigned a number and a computer purely accidental chooses the numbers, while the teachers and administrators regulated the process. Only students who have parking problems or are involved in virtueless activities can be tested, according to a U.S. Supreme court decision.
Then Small held out the prospect that the decision was delayed till the city could investigate further details.
While Small desisted from it, the council took the positive poll for spending the money at the February 16 meeting. |
