S. Attorney General Cast Some Suspicion on Administration's New Pot Policy Regulations

Home / View News

Washington, DC: Eric Holder, United States Attorney General strongly pointed that he will not give authority to federal justice resources to target or appears for the prosecution medical cannabis users or providers that are malleable with state law.

Consequently Holder's confirmations dot the i's and cross the t's about his criticism, which was made last month when he said that the Justice Department would corroborate President Obama's campaign pledge not to use federal resources to counterfeit state medical marijuana laws.

According to NORML Executive Director Allen St. Pierre statements, the Obama administration's position is in sorry state, because of shift in US drug policy which, by the way, turned a significant winning for the 72 million Americans who inhabit the states where the use of medical cannabis is legal. This situation is a marked deviation from those of the Bush and Clinton administrations -- both of which successively used the power of the federal government to try and tear down state medical marijuana laws and take legal steps against those who followed state law. Above all mentioned, they also make a fallacious promise in several states, such as Minnesota, New Jersey, and Rhode Island, where there are rampant engagements to make the production and distribution of medical cannabis legal under state law.
